I've hidden a few people when they start spouting off too much - but mostly because of annoying apps they have running - but I've never actually unfriended someone.

I've got some pretty liberal friends from high school and the Navy, but we pretty much ignore each other's politics and stick to banter about our kids. If I want politics, I come here.

It seems they want a podium to spread their BS without discourse, discussion or disagreement. They don't want their message diluted with silly things like facts and truth.

I understand this all too well. I too recently had [who I thought was] a friend decide his ideological view trumped everything else and decided I was someone who he wouldnt want to be associated with (presumably I am a "far right wing extremist"). Best of all, he had someone else say it on his behalf to me.

And Yes, he is far, far left wing.

Far as I am concerned, he proved he was never what he pretended to be. Just a fraud and life goes on. However, I do find that double standard of "tolerance" rather amusing.

You know, as outspoken as I am on here, I have several liberal friends and we don't seem to have a problem. BUT! They're liberals, not hard Lefty Marxists. So maybe that's the difference. And I'm also not a hard Righty, either, despite what some of the less tolerant among us might think.

I'm new on FB, so I don't have too many friends yet. Mostly relatives, because they all wanted to start a Family Reunion page, which is what I started the darn thing for. Recently I was asked if I had FB, so I decided to open it up to others. That and my 13yo has a page he made on his iTouch, so I need to keep an eye on him now.

Quite a few of my northern relatives are Democrats, but I'm not sure they're hard left Libs. Most of them know I'm not a Dem. They're relatives of my dad & he was definitely not a Democrat! And if they didn't know, they will when I get Sarah Palin or Charles Lollar as friends! But if they drop me as a friend because of it - too bad on them!

I haven't been unfriended yet ... but one of my old friends from high school, wants to Settle and open a Coffee Shop / Book Store ..... has tagged me in a could of pics as political .... and commented I was to the right or Rush (hardly)


but she is way out on the left ..... most of my friends are for Mafia Wars anyhow ...


or folks who work in Dallas at the company data center .... and are fairly conservative anyhow ...
