Maybe the Republicans should call his bluff,,

There are 40 MILLION people without insurance today, they can't afford to wait seven years, make it law TODAY! Since there won't be any deficit spending on the program, AND you say it actually save money why wait? Make it law, and make it effective tomorrow.

If you want to be more technical, it's poppycock.
This is yet another reason the GOP deserves to become extinct; they are not willing or capable of making the simplest of points. They sat on their little fingers all through the campaign while Obama and the rest of the avowed socialists threatened to get those nasty oil companies and windfall tax their dirty profits, profits of something under 10%, a number well under the total government take on a gallon of gasoline in taxes.

And now, it happens again. I have yet to hear a single pol ask the simple question; If Obama does what he says he will do, reduce cots, what happens to all that money he claims will be 'saved'? Will the insurance companies just have less cash in those giant corporate swimming pools buried under their castles? Will they actually have to start buying toilet paper and charcoal instead of using $100 bills?

Or, will they cut costs and services and JOBS in the never ending struggle to remain...PROFITABLE?

It is a no brainer that MORE competition begets better quality and service. However, that is not now nor ever was the goal of the America left. If it was, they would break down the barriers protecting insurance companies, political barriers, and grab some popcorn, watch the market do it's thing and take credit, all due credit, for making the situation better.

As it is, the GOP is allowing yet another point go by the way side; the LAST thing socialized medicine is going to do is make ANYTHING cheaper or better. It will simply bludgeon the market place, put of the illusion of containing costs and, like every other market government has EVER been involved in, pass the real costs to the people on somewhere else.

It's little wonder radio talk shows and right wing authors have to carry the GOP; it's filled with people who can't, or won't, do the job.

Calling an opponents bluff. Especially when you know the cards they are holding. Seems like a relatively good idea? Maybe the GOP will form a study group and consider the possibilities and get back to us in a decade or three?

Or just let radio people and writers think for them.

Surely your not suggesting that the current administration be held responsible for their financial decisions?

I researched this when gas was 4 buck a gal.

Oil Companies make about a nickel a gallon profit on gas ..... it is because Americans consume so much, are profits high

I have had people tell me a nickel was too much profit ....
