I think it is deliberate. She has a WTF cares sense about her and I think this is part of it. And that is a low class way to act as First Lady of our country.

AHHHH, I get it now.. You're saying she KNOWS how to act, how to dress, but wants to snub her nose at everything establishment.

Thinking in those terms I would suggest that you're right.


There's also another one where she attended an award ceremony.. She went to this posthumous (sp?) award ceremony wearing what looked like a VERY colorful cocktail dress.. Everyone thought it was a fauxpas.. but maybe it was intentional.. INTENTIONALLY flipping the family off and purposefully dressing like that to their husband/ fathers award ceremony. Bascially saying, I don't care, I'm not impressed, and I have NO respect for you or what he did.

It's an attitude, a way of life. Michelle Obama is very astute about how she conducts herself. I'm positive about that.

She has a habit of this. Some (a lot?) of her outfits don't match the events she attends/hosts.

There is a photo of her at some function recently - I can't think of it right now - she's in a yellow sweater or top with a sweater over it. I swear you can see her bra through the top. I only saw one photo where she was up close enough, so I couldn't tell if it was shadow of outline or actually a little transparent. Whatever. It's just totally inappropriate - I don't give a rat's a** what function/event she was at or how young & hip & with it she wants to be. That's pure hoochie momma, not First Lady material.

Politicians are expected to wear nice clothing while on the job and I guess during most photo ops, but it's not like they are always wearing nice clothing...I bet they all wear shorts. I guess this may be a "photo op" but I really don't care what she wears when she is on a plane. If she wore that to a banquet or when acting as the First Lady for something where that dress is inappropriate, then I'd have a problem.

She's not on the plane in this photo...she's getting off. She's the First Lady of the United States, meaning that wherever she goes, she reflects on the United States as a whole. Heck, I fly in shorts all the time, but I am an anonymous traveler. I'm not getting off Air Force One, in a situation where the probability is 100% that there will be someone with a camera waiting for a shot. She was/is. Its the totality of the "position". It requires a certain image to be portrayed.

She has displayed certain questionable clothing options so far and this shouldn't even be a discussion item, but her situational awareness is severely lacking.

Surprisingly, I like Michelle Obama and I like her casual attitude. I have no problem with her wearing cutoffs and a wife-beater on AF1. You can't be a fake ass fashion plate all the time.

I'd like her better if her husband wasn't a stupid diva and if she weren't such an Afro-centric, but what the heck.
