Usually finding meaningful employment takes care of it.

There isn't a thing in the world wrong with attacking the 'news' media given it is a war of words. However, the rank hypocrisy of the left leaves a bit of an ache in the side from laughing so hard at the incessant chicken little nature of this administration.

If there was a network whose sole purpose and reason for existence was to willfully and deliberately present one side of the news at the total expense of the other -

In other words, completely, totally, unabashed and unashamed presented the news in an utterly biased fashion -

I can think of *nothing* that is MORE American than that.

*Freedom* is where you can live in a country where people can say things you hate, and they have the right to say them.

Think of it this way - how would you feel if the opinions YOU espouse suddenly became the unpopular ones - and you were at the mercy of those in power to continue to say them? If you don't like people saying things that are politically incorrect and against what you believe, think of how you'd feel if a power shift took place and suddenly everything YOU believe was the wrong thing, both socially and in practice.....

Suppose you hold some view today typically associated with the left - say, for example, gay marriage - and you wanted to buy into a football team and the owners locked you out because of your beliefs. Would you think that was right?

Freedom is ALL about people being able to say what they want. Declaring something as "unAmerican" because it's different is itself un-American.

Unless I woke up in China this morning.

If you woke up in China this morning, your news program would be spouting out propaganda that would have you believe that the government is taking care of your best interests and isn't oppressive at all.

I don't have anything against the Rush Limbaugh's, Beck's, Maddow's and Olbermann's having their shows and voicing their opinion. I do think they provide a public service to some extent and it is their right. If you want to know what a liberal view is on a subject, then everyone knows they go to MSNBC and if you want the conservative view, then everyone knows they go to FOX. And if you don't like the views, then...tune out...that simple.

However, I do have a problem with them labeling themselves as unbiased news sources. We all know they are anything but unbiased. It is important to hold the integrity of the news of the day. News that isn't influenced by a political party or mired with political views. Walter Conkrite is a prime example of what real journalism is all about and VERY American.

If we allow ourselves to accept the opinion pieces of the aforementioned as hard news, then we may as well be waking up in China.

Sorry, my filters aren't set to view the world between races. May account for your skewed outlook though.....it is why race always becomes an issue no matter what topic is discussed.

Please show me where Fox has ever labeled themselves as unbiased. I'll wait.

They bill themselves as "fair and balanced," which they are.

Everybody knows that there's a liberal, that there's a heavy liberal persuasion among correspondents," said (fill in name here) in 1996, speaking to his colleagues at the Radio and TV Correspondents Association dinner.
guess what admittedly liberal news correspondent made this statement, admitting that he skewed the news to a liberal point of veiw.

I remembered hearing that all the time back in their early days.
and I agree, I think they do just put it out there for you to decide.
