The Dover AFB visit is the story that this thread was started about.

I've already said what I think about it. Doesn't matter if you agree or not.

Obama doesn't take a wee wee without expecting attention for it. The whole world can see that.

I saw this Photo Op crap coming when they lifted the ban on photographing the dead returning to the U.S.

This guy has no class. Of course he went....not "at least he went". He went because it benefitted HIMSELF - not the families of the fallen. He has no idea how to conduct himself in a way befitting the office he holds. I always thought Clinton was a photo op whore but he has nothing on this guy. He has serious ego problems, and his staff is a bunch of enablers (ie the decision not to announce the nukes in Iran because it would spoil the image of his first speech at the UN).

Bush did indeed meet with families - even Cindy Sheehan met with him long before she started her protest, but he met in private. Obama couldn't fathom doing something without a teleprompter and a crowd.

Doesn't matter what you think either.

You spoke of a funeral. That's not what occurred at Dover.

The transferring of the human remains of our fallen soldiers is a solemn and sacred event and part of the funereal process. Until they are interred they are part of a funereal process. Is this difficult to understand?

The Wellstone Funeral was a circus and a debacle. Google it if you don't remember.

I don't need you to tell me what a funeral is. What occurred at Dover AFB was not a funeral. The arrival, back on US soil, of our fallen soldiers' remains is a solemn event but it is not a funeral. Is that difficult to understand? The funerals of those fallen soldiers will occur in their home towns, not at Dover AFB.

I also said (clarified) that it is part of the funereal process.

Funeral directors do, indeed, either accompany those caskets or are at each stage of the trip, to release or take possession of them. The caskets are also accompanied by a military honor guard for the entire process until the military person is laid to rest.

You seem to want to pick at nits. Go ahead.

Again, tell me something I don't already know. You can nit pick it as much as you want. You were misrepresenting what Obama was doing at Dover AFB.

I thionk Bann said Obama went there for a photo-op' I dont think that is misrepresenting anything. I believe that is what he went for. It is shameful

What we need here is a poll.

1.Who thinks it was an unmitigated opportunity for Obama to appear to care and enjoy a chance for a photo-op, when he just wants to vote "Present" to the military situation in Afghanistan,

2. and how many think it was his idea alone ,not suggested by one of his press advisors,to go there in the middle of the night with the press corps in tow to pay his respects.
