1.Who thinks it was an unmitigated opportunity for Obama to appear to care and enjoy a chance for a photo-op, when he just wants to vote "Present" to the military situation in Afghanistan,

2. and how many think it was his idea alone ,not suggested by one of his press advisors,to go there in the middle of the night with the press corps in tow to pay his respects.

Shameful? Everything the POTUS does is a photo-op. This isn't the first time we've seen a POTUS at some sort of funeral, memorial service, greeting families, etc. So, by the arguments I read here, Reagan's presence at the memorial service for the Challenger 7 was a photo-op, right? The first person to reply "no" is a hypocrite.

Current policy is that the presence (or not) of news crews is the choice of the famlies. In this case, there were several bodies arriving at Dover AFB. Obama was present for the transfer of each of them. Only one of the families allowed cameras which is why we saw what we did. If Obama's motive was a photo-op, he would've only been present for the transfer of the remains whos family allowed the cameras. That was not the case. He was there for all of them that morning. So if you have a problem with cameras being there, your issue is with that family.
