Downside is that the rest of congress will look at a low turnout and attribute it to no interest in the outcome of the bill. They will use it as another reason to vote for it.

I hope she gets a strong turnout, but somehow I doubt this will work as well as she expects.

I have to say, I agree. As much as I would love to show up & support Michelle Bachmann, I can't attend this event. This time of year at work - I'd get fired if I took off for a reason other than a severe illness. I have to support my kids, so I can't attend.

Yes: You are correct. It's really hard to get anything started when it's at the last minute like this, and of course that plays into Pelosi's hands.

Sounds like we need a new incarnation of the Minutemen - the Protesting Minutemen, those who can assemble on short notice to speak against the overseers.

The worst part might be that Pelosi, et al, would respond by calling them "organized" and "fanatics".

But it seems to have worked for ACORN, so...
