I'm just waiting for the moral majority-era Republicans to die off.

I have no problem with the religious right, just those who let issues like abortion, gay marriage, etc. get in the way of more important issues.

If the Republicans can mirror McDonnell's successes and not campaign as culture warrior, get back to spreading the message of fiscal conservatism, then mayhaps I will one day register Republican. Until then, I'm just going to be a cynic and hate on both parties for being idiotic.

Good post. As it is now, no single party represents my views. As Alexa has stated before, and the one thing I agree with her on, is that we need to do away with the party system and have candidates campaign on their own merits.
