GOP Moving to the middle...

...did NOT work! it did not work under George Bush and it did not work in choosing our numero uno move to the middle guy this last national election.

IT DID NOT WORK. Good lord, I am sick of hearing this. Going to the middle did NOT WORK for the GOP. The people spoke and, given the choice between a faux Democrat and a real one, took the real one.

GOING TO THE MIDDLE DID NOT WORK FOR THE GOP and, far more importantly, is destroying this nation in my view and that includes the reign of George W. Bush.

Enough already.

I'd love to see the GOP move to the middle (fiscally speaking), as that would mean it was becoming more conservative.

At last, someone like myself that views the republicans as bleeding heart liberals.
its why I left the party and registered independent a few years back.
I also recall suggesting others do the same.
I would like to see the dems stay as dems, but the republicans switch parties.
then, and only then will they wake up and realize that they are no longer representing anyone in this country.

I don't follow you at all here. On another thread, Doug Hoffman is some kind of dork for being all the way to the right. In this thread, you're supporting such a move.

Which is it?

I said Hoffman is a dork. He is.

Did I say I don't support him because he is a dork? No.

I don't make my decision based on appearances or how smooth some one is. Do you?

I like dorks. Some of them anyway.

what does ones penchant for biting bubbles in the bathtub have to do with their ability to lead or govern?

Im not sure how they managed to do it but Bush was painted as too far right and many people bought this. I expect its the Republicans, even moderate ones, being in bed with the Christian right.

Dems are just a bunch of idiot liberals. These "I'm pretending to be Republicans" are the same. We need some far right conservatives to straighten this country out. We need politicians in office that will vote the way their constituents believed they would vote when they were elected. Not some posing Republican like the one in NY state that grabbed votes away from the actual Rep candidate, then dumped her party and went to the other side. A setup to be sure.
