The story about jobs right now...

Wonder why, despite all his best efforts, Obama just can't seem to get America back to work?

It's simple...from the standpoint of the people doing the hiring.

Business seeks fixed points. It looks for consistent patterns, stability's it can then exploit. You plan expansion when you see opportunities. You build and hire and grow when there is something for you to go after. When you can see a goal, you chart a course and start the journey.

When there is confusion and insecurity and instability, business holds on to what they have. They trim expenses. Squeeze efficiency. When you are in fog, you slow down and batten the hatches.

Obama has done nothing but reward political allies, expand government and sow doubt and confusion be it health care, his primary goal, the wars, energy, immigration, taxes, you name.

The nice view of this is that this is simply a tough time we all have to go trough and it is the struggles of him not getting his way that is creating the problems.

The not so nice view is that the uncertainty serves his ends, socialism and growth of government.

The middle view is he's just not very smart or wise and just doesn't know what to do next and is doing what a lawyer in trouble would do; plead for delay.

Well, the people that he needs to get back to work don't WANT to go back to work. They are convinced that they don't need to work - he will save them... he'll make sure they have healthcare, a house, food, etc. Why work??

There is a real conflict there, the problem of unemployment and the lack of jobs. I don't much mind unemployment benefits because things do happen, just so long as they are reasonable, limited and ending. Even better if they are, somehow, elastic to shrink and grow as the job market changes thus creating a neutrality from the politicians standpoint; he gains neither from lack of or excess of jobs.

As it is, Obama and his world view, socialism, gains from lack of jobs.

How many teachers positions did he save. How many were police and Firefighters, and Governments(state) employees.Remember, now GM and Chrysler employees work for the Government.

Now take a peek. Ho many small business jobs has he saved?

I think you will find your answer there. Saving government jobs does not solve America's problems. Now had he placed some of this money into drilling for oil and building refineries, had he cut taxes for business's and helped get loans for small business he may have been a little better off.

There I highlighted your error for correction. Back to work would indicate they had worked at some point.

Good analogy.
