No - he's being an azz. WTH is "enjoying the benefits of the tax system" supposed to mean anyway? Am I gaming the system? No, I report accurately to the best of my ability, all of my income, legal exemptions, and report all of my deductions as allowed for according to the current tax code.

In order to put the money to good use, I typically put it in my HSA account, and that helps pay for my health care. I have never taken a vacation with it OR even bought a new pair of shoes with it. Although this year, some of it went literally down the drain. (to fix a pipe leak in my front yard!)

This year I did have a lot of mortgage interest and real estate taxes to claim. Is that not a fair "tax write off"?
