I read through so many of the responses. While it doesn't surprise me that many Democrats and lefties are ticked off at sites like Kos and DU, what did surprise me was the level of disappointment and the honest, frank candor about the whole Obama campaign.

And what's a shame is, these newly minted independents would easily go to another party if it weren't for 1) the fact that they've disliked the GOP for so long they'd rather just not vote at all anymore and 2) the GOP has gone so far adrift from its moorings that there's not terribly much to attract them any longer.

It's not going to happen that "you've seen the light on Obama, come vote for us". Too many are of the opinion that there's no longer significant difference between them, and leaving one to join the other is simply repeating the same mistake.

I really hope the Tea Party can emerge as a rational movement which attracts people of all persuasions, and one of those is to eschew certain issues that really have little to do with national politics.

that's is why the Right Wing, Conservatives, Republicans and Fundamentalist look kinda foolish when they label Obama as Socialist, Communist, extreme liberal, etc.

if one examines his policy's, they fit squarely in the category of moderate

Obama has been blessed with a disorganized Republican opposition

When you look at them through Leftist glasses. The Left unwaveringly considers itself "the middle" because they think they are the sane ones.

With the aid of Nonnocrite, we can see that is clearly unrealistic.

Do you have reading capability? The mans father was a Communist. His mentor growing up, Frank Davis...communist. And I guess you figure none of what he has proposed and done so far as President is in no way connected with a socialist way of governing?

My father never finished highschool. Most of the men "role models" in my life didn't either, and they were slightly racist.*

None of that applies to me.

* But I still loved them.

Wrong. The Kenyan has been cursed by reality - the reality that getting his socialagist agenda implemented is not as easy as he thought; not to mention things like closing Gitmo. That's why the left is mad. They know that time is running out.

Perspective is a fascinating thing.

Bush 43 and Obama have obliterated the concept of 'moderate'. They both brought on massive new government programs be it med part D, DHS, TARP, the UAW bailout or two UN style globalist nation building exercises by Bush or, Obama, The Stimulus and healthcare, both of which are spawning massive new government intrusions and policies every day, taking over GM, throwing contract law in the trash can over Chrysler or continuing the one world government plans of Bush.

We may be a right of center people but, our government leaped left after 9/11, Bush no more 'wasting a crisis' than Obama to move this nation left, far left, on a structural level.
