Right-wingers don't seem to 'get it': Bashing Latinos makes Tea Parties happy -- and is long-term political suicide

"This weekend, Fox News' Julie Banderas featured a segment discussing the way Republicans are gearing up to get nasty and nativist on immigration this coming year -- particularly in state legislatures where a batch of anti-14th Amendment "anchor baby" laws are about to come bubbling up. She invited on Bob Dane, spokesman for the nativist hate group FAIR, and Frank Sharry of America's Voice, who pointed out that Republicans are slitting their own throats politically by taking this route."

Don't you love how a discussion regarding illegal immigration gets recast as "anti-immigrant"?

Being anti-immigrant is just being bigoted; being anti illegal immigration is not only upholding the law, it mirrors what nearly every other nation does regarding people entering their country - including Mexico. If you think we're unfair to Mexicans, you ought to see what THEY do to people entering THEIR southern border.

Also, did you notice how being against anchor babies is somehow "anti 14th amendment"? Do these people read? The anchor baby concept is a recent corruption of the 14th amendment, and even a cursory read of the discussions leading to the 14th amendment in the Congressional Record make it abundantly clear - this amendment was never meant to be a ticket in for children of those here illegally. The interpretation of the amendment leading to anchor babies is only about thirty years old.

I don't see how it can hurt Republicans , It is pretty obvious that the Democrats have bought the Hispanic vote already. The hard part for the Democrats is how to keep the Black vote while selling jobs blacks need to Hispanics.

I guess the answer is with redistribution of wealth and dumbassed moves like the Pigford reparation payoff.
