National Gun Control Group Uses Al Qaeda Threat to Push For Stricter Firearm Regulation

Earlier this month, The Blaze showed you chilling video featuring U.S. born Al-Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn. In the clip, the terror official called on American Muslims to exploit loopholes by purchasing weapons from gun shows. Then, he encouraged adherents to carry out random domestic attacks. Now, The Coalition of Mayors Against Illegal Guns is seizing upon Gadahn’s words to push for stricter U.S. gun control measures.

Earlier today, the group unleashed an ad campaign that features the terror “executive’s” horrifying proclamations. The commercial, set to run on cable networks including CNN, FOX News and MSNBC, is likely geared toward lawmakers who have yet to reform gun laws to a level the coalition deems palatable. The Huffington Post has more:
“The latest al Qaeda plot instructs terrorists on how to buy guns in America,” the ad says, before shifting to audio of Gadahn.

The al Qaeda spokesman declares: “This is a golden opportunity. America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show … and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle without a background check. … So what are you waiting for?”

“Call your member of Congress,” the ad concludes. “Tell them to close the loopholes that let terrorists and criminals buy guns.”

But of course, getting a fully automatic weapon isn't that easy. But the people this is aimed towards dont know that. And, of course, whats the best defense against such attacks? Not waiting 15-20 minutes for a police response equipped to deal with such a threat, or hoping an off-duty officer happens to be in the area.

Face, these bozos can get weapons anywhere. But in places where you can legally buy and carry weapons, the odds of getting such an attack to actually work as envisioned requires an unarmed population.

"Terrorist gunmen walk mall for 20 minutes killing as they see fit" (MD mall)

"Terrorist gunmen kill two before dying in a hail of return fire" (TX mall)

This actually makes a good case for shall issue, IMHO.

As far as terrorists being able to purchase fully automatic weapons?? I know they won't be buying them in Maryland....legally anyway. Even semi-auto takes paperwork and a check through the State Police before you can purchase a gun that is on the controlled list. That's about a week. So where are these Maryland terroists going to get these weapons?

Because, If I'm going to kill lots of people, the penalty for violating gun laws would scare me out purchasing or modifying the illegal firearms to do it. Therefore, MD gun laws do make me feel so much safer.
