like i said, only an addict would argue that it isn't a drug or that cigs are non-adicitve.

That I agree with. Bars are supposed to smell like cigarettes.

First, I want to say that nobody who is caught with a joint and that is their first time committing any crime is going to jail. In Maryland, likely their 10th time caught with a joint will not result in jail time. It's mostly a fine. So the theory of putting users in jail does not reveal the truth. Those that go to jail for possession have much more going on than holding a little weed.

Having said that, I have to say that while I would oppose drugs other than marijuana being legal, my opinion is that pot should be. I understand that people will say that it's a gateway drug and all that, but honestly so is alcohol.

The "war" on drugs should be fought over those drugs which have highly addictive and destructive qualities. Some would argue this means alcohol and tobbaco as well, and they are welcome to that opinion, but it is not shared by the majority I believe.

I was stupid in the opposite direction. For all those years I smoked, I rarely bought cartons, instead buying exactly two packs just about every day. Dunno why really..some kind of aversion to admitting I smoked as much as I did..or maybe an inner worry that with a carton on hand I would smoke even more?

I figure I save about 350 bucks a month now since I quit (cold turkey...all at once..and no meds or aids) ..and that will soon increase to over 400 when another dollar per pack gets tacked on. Heck..I remember when I paid a lot less than that a month to rent a house.

I wonder..what does the average pot smoker spend every month?

Whatever change you and your neighbors have in your cars at night.

Pretty sure its the crack heads that perpetrate most of the rampant 'petty' thieving. At least that's been the case around the Piney Point area and has been for a long time too....

It was cocaine and crack that was being trafficked so heavily down here for a long time before the distribution was finally broken up. Heck, the tenants of some of the local rental cottages made little effort to disguise the brisk business they were doing, going back in the mid-90s and even farther, and lets face it..black Lexus' with gold trim and 20" rims really stand out down here.

But pot sales or thefts to support the 'habit'?...don't hear too much about that by comparison.

ooo..almost forgot. I been savin this smilie for just this subject.

Because they're stupid through generations of nanny government. I still have a cell or two left, so I make the drive to VA and buy 10 cartons at a time.

But honestly - I don't mind being forced outside to smoke at a bar or restaurant. I'd rather sit outside anyway.

I dont mind seeing you forced out at the restaurant, but the bar should be a safe smoking haven for you.
You eat at home, Ill drink at home. I think its fair.

I'd rather sit outside at Toots' than inside. Didn't used to be able to do that until the smoking ban. Lots of bars and restaurants now have outdoor seating. So hurray for the nazis!
