Media Fail: 'Dying' Tea Party Raises $12 Million

Media Fail: 'Dying' Tea Party Raises $12 Million

More proof the media loves to write the reality they desire.

Over and over again we've told by the MSM that the Tea Party is dying or dead ... then a entrenched incumbent in Indiana is booted out.

I've never heard the media say that. They've said that the TEA Party dominates the Republican Party now (which is why I still question the destined nomination of Romney and, thus, question the TEA Party's platform as a whole).

I, however, don't believe that. I think the majority of the TEA Party, which started off as a genuine semi-Libertarian cause until CNBC, AFP and FreedomWorks astroturfed it, is nothing more than a bunch louder, more vocal "business as usual" Republicans. The two conservatives on that stage didn't win a single state (well, technically, Ron Paul won Iowa and one other state). And the TEA Party was quick to get behind Newt Gingrich after Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain dropped out.... really? Nothing "small government" about that #######.

The TEA Party is just a front group being used by Republicans and the Koch Brothers just like Occupy is a front group for the unions and George Soros. Both started off with noble intentions but quickly turned in to nothing more than front groups. For the record, it was NBC News that made the TEA Party "mainstream". Without Rick Santelli, there'd be no TEA Party.

Speaking of Bachmann, I saw her on the news earlier. Everytime I see her, I think of her MSNBC 2010 interview where Matthews asked her if she was hypnotized.

I don't like Bachmann, but I remember that interview as one of Matthew's worst. He was blatantly partisan, and when he couldn't back her into a corner or get her to say something stupid, he just plain insults her. That's very poor journalism.

Someone like Tim Russert - or even O'Reilly - might have answered - "all well and good, but you haven't answered my question".

It might make you laugh, but it probably proves the point Maddow was trying to dismiss - being in the tank for Obama.

Being a Libertarian of recent vintage, I can say that one of the things contributing to my leaving the Republican Party, was some of the early Tea Party rhetoric, that had me go looking for sentiments/platforms along the same lines.

It WAS awful, but it was funny as hell at the same time.
