Baldwin Hurls Anti-Gay Slurs at Daily News Editor

Baldwin Hurls Anti-Gay Slurs at Daily News Editor

This morning, the New York Daily News reported that Alec Baldwin physically attacked one of its photographers. (Video below)

In his usual fashion, Baldwin took to Twitter to defend himself, claiming “all paparazzi should be waterboarded” and even drawing a bizarre analogy to George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin.

But the real question is why Baldwin used anti-gay slurs to lash out at Colin Myler, the Daily News' male Editor in Chief?

Now, as far as anyone knows, Myler isn't gay. Nonetheless, whether the object of the statement is gay or not is irrelevant -- the use of terms commonly used to denigrate gays (such as "queen" and female pronouns when referring to a male) is offensive, regardless of sexual orientation (and why the term ‘fagg*t,’ in any context, is rightly frowned upon and is slowly being eased out of our vernacular).

This is not the first time Baldwin has been under fire for employing this kind of language.

In the 1990s, during a protest in New York City, he allegedly referred to a horse-drawn-carriage driver as a “fagg*t.”
