Pelosi: Declare Debt Ceiling Unconstitutional

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., thinks that President Obama should unilaterally eliminate the debt ceiling, rather than negotiate with Congress to spend more money when the United States hits the debt ceiling later this year.

“I would like to see the Constitution used to protect the country’s full faith and credit, as the Constitution does,” Pelosi told reporters Wednesday. She was endorsing the idea that Obama should use the 14th Amendment — which states that “The validity of the public debt of the United States . . . shall not be questioned” — to circumvent House Republicans who want spending cuts in exchange for another debt ceiling hike.

Fine...declare it unconstitutional and don't write any checks.
Maybe if they would actually pass a budget, then they could figure out how to not need to exceed the cap.

Pelosi should be impeached for not defending and upholding the Constitution. She is violating her oath of office. Yes, any federal government official can be impeached.

Its like she has no clue where the money has to come from in order to pay the debt that she wants to expand.

and the whole time, the liberals write more laws and tax code that causes more business to leave the country..
The liberals are idiots, and she is the queen

We as a country (not just certain individuals) need to take on this burden. First off, the spending needs to be curtailed. If the country is not doing well, those who leech shouldn't do well (mainly talking welfare). Tax code, simplify it. Have a tax table with amount of money made and the percentage owed (everyone pays their fair share) and then have children on there and let's limit the tax break to 2-3 children. Those in poverty and needing welfare shouldn't be rewarded for having more children than that. (this being said about collecting welfare and advantages for having children you can't afford to take care of).

I sort of agree.
tax code should be the same % if you make 30k a year or if you make 1 mil a year.
no deductions
no deductions for children, you have them? you pay for them. pretty simple.
Welfare should be limited to 2 years only except in cases where the person is really unable to work. and fat is not a reason, or is stupid. Fat stupid people can push a broom.

then, the government should be able to look at yearly payroll numbers for the U.S, and base their spending on that without being able to exceed the expected amount that will come in.

I.R.S could be totally disolved saving the country billions every year, welfare would be cut by at least 75%

:) Do you realize the number of lawyers, lobbyists, tax accountants and staff that would lose their way of life? Plus the IRS weenies.....I don't know, but It would have to be a large number. That's one reason why I don't think we'll ever see a flat tax..

Nancy (like most politicians and senior gov't people) only thinks about Nancy. Wasn't oh so long ago she was whining because the USAF needed to supply a larger plane for her and her staff to travel between coasts on a moments notice!
