Ok, I saw the clip where Steny declares "Shame! Shame! Shame!".

Can anyone, even sarcastically, explain to me why stonewalling, refusal to cooperate and outright lying doesn't get this guy's butt tossed in jail, much LESS deserve a contempt vote?

If he brought in an automatic weapon and began shooting, and got a slap on the wrist, would the Democrats charge out in protest?

I don't know the law, but I'm pretty sure if you refuse to cooperate in court, you'll certainly be cited with contempt. This man was given all sorts of latitude to cooperate, and he refused. And the more I see of Fast and Furious, the less I like of it.

So what does this mean?

Serious question. I've paid almost no attention to this situation, little more than would leave me aware that there is some situation, that it has something to do with something called Fast and Furious (which I had thought was a movie, but I guess not), and that it relates to firearms somehow.

Hate to say it, but Jon Stewart does a decent job of it..

Democrats refused to vote for 1 of 3 reasons.

They knew they would have to vote Yes, and this would look bad for them

They would have to lie and vote no, but that would come back to bite them when the tried the same on a republican

They are filthy racists that think no black man should be questioned ever and walked out to prove that the white slave master had no hold on their chains of opression that has held them down for millions of years.

See, I can't see that. I seriously can't see that they made a barefaced lie, that their whole point was to be dishonest.

I think one of the shortcomings of the liberals in Washington is they do actually believe the stuff they say. They live in this echo chamber, and pretty soon, everything they say looks like truth.

What I don't get is, how can anyone stand the story of Holder and not think dammit, when is this guy going to give them the documents, tell them the facts and play straight with them? You didn't know about the gunwalking? Give us the papers. No? Contempt of court.

For this, the Democrats say "shame"? The only explanation I can think of is they have not been paying any attention and think the whole thing is some kind of fantasy against a man for his race. That the details of the past year have no bearing on the contempt - they just pulled it out of thin air. Pelosi even went on once that the whole reason for the investigation on Holder was so that the different states could go ahead with their voter purges unabated. So she's clearly not paying attention.

"Shame"? How about pull your head out of your ass? Every last Democrat that didn't vote for it walked out.

Actually I can't understand why they can't get a warrant and walk into Justice and take the documents.

You see, I'm having a hard time believing they are this ignorant, this stupid that they don't know exactly what Holder has done. The one thing I do believe is their progressive ideology requires that they rebel against the law and authority. Morals and ethics are the enemy.
