You're giving that poster (he/she/it) too much credit by naming he/she/it a slug.

Slugs have a little self confidence.

Well, there's the problem, we don't have any transcript. What we have is two groups of politicians explaining what they heard him say.

The R side.......

Quote:
That's according to U.S. Rep. Peter King, R-New York, who spoke to reporters after a closed hearing in the House, which lasted an hour and 20 minutes. King said Petraeus' testimony differed from an earlier assessment the former CIA director gave lawmakers just days after the September 11 attack, which left four Americans dead, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.
"He (Petraeus) ... stated that he thought all along he made it clear that there was significant terrorist involvement, and that is not my recollection of what he told us on September 14," King said.

And the D take on it.....

Quote:
After the House committee hearing, Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Maryland, said the confusion over the consulate incident arose from there being essentially two threads of violence: one caused by the protest, which was chaotic, and a second that was orchestrated by terrorists, which was highly coordinated. There were "two different types of situations at play," Ruppersberger said, explaining that in the hours and days after the attack, it was naturally difficult to clearly discern what happened.
So, the R side says it's quite clear the CIA knew right from the bat that the whole deal was terrorism from the start, and Rices wording was watered down stuff specifically to emphasize that terrorism aspect, while the D side plays up the "civilian" aspect, and that she was only speaking to that.......
But why couldn't you actually answer the question I posed? It as directed at YOUR lame unsupported assertion afterall.

Hmmm, better check back, TG, if it it was directed at my "lame unsupported" comment, why didnt you quote that unsupported comment when you asked it? All I did was point out that we dont have transcript. And where supporters of both sides got the belief that what he said backed up what they believe.

I have not made any statement in this thread of what I believe about his testimony.
