| AS Aps said, you kot only dont ned, but also dont want guards in the schools. Gaurd duty numbs the mind, taking the edge off of men you originally picked for having the action-oriented mindset. Those types of people dont take well to garrison duty. Simply take volunteers from the staff and give them some basic training. Whats so hard about that?

Every county cop should be taking a turn at each of the schools in his or her county. Regularly. This keeps them fresh, makes them know the schools and makes the community know them. It's not just a cop to little Johnny and Susie, it's officer Smith who has a little boy, too. I proposed to cyber space back in the early 2000's that the way to patrol our borders was...to patrol out border. Have, as part of boot, on going field training exercises. Say, after you are out of boot, before AIT, you do two weeks at various camps spread all over critical areas, practicing marching, land navigation, small unit tactics, ####ting in the woods...observing the flora and fauna and Felipe and Fiona, detain, call in border patrol. Fresh troops constantly coming in, a presences, constantly. The NRA is flat out, dead on correct; a good guy with a gun is the ONLY way to prevent this in the future. A citizen, a soldier, a cop.
