Pelosi: There's No 'Spending Problem'

Pelosi: There's No 'Spending Problem'

With the sequester set to kick in on March 1, President Obama and his Democrat allies are hell-bent on shifting the conversation away from proper government cuts, and toward higher taxes. On Sunday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took to Fox News Sunday to explain that America does not have a spending problem. “It is almost a false argument to say that we have a spending problem. We have a budget deficit problem,” Pelosi insisted.

Pelosi’s motion was seconded by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) on NBC’s Meet the Press, where Durbin laughably explained that the sequester was “designed as a budget threat, not as a budget strategy” – and stated that the only approach to solving the budget problem was to raise taxes again.

President Obama himself agreed with that perspective in his weekly online address. The budget sequester he signed off on – the sequester proposal he insisted upon – is now the Republicans’ fault. Obama claims that if the sequester goes through, “firefighters and food inspectors” will bear the brunt of the cuts, as well as cancer research and people with disabilities. It’s the usual liberal demagogic approach to any problem: world to end tomorrow, minorities hit hardest.

let me clear this up a bit.
she says there is no spending problem, this is true, they have no problem spending on trillions worth of non essential things like obamacare.

its a deficit problem
this means that the money coming in (taxes) is not equal to the spending.

they dont need to cut or restrict spending to fix this, they just need to raise taxes more.

How about both sides compromise.

Close loop holes on some tax breaks and return to Clinton era tax rates temporarily, decreasing each year for 5 years to the Bush tax rates.
Phase out EIC over 5 years.

2 year freeze on spending levels based on 2010 (I was going ot say based on last budget but that is too long ago)
Year 3, 4 and 5 show 2% reduction per year.

Reward efficiency.

Abolish Department of HUD, Education, Labor and Agriculture, OSHA, EPA over a 5 year plan shifting the work to State governments where it should be.
Stop subsidies to oil and agriculture.

Tarrif on goods from countries with more than a 2:1 import/export ratio.

Stop funding NEA

Withdraw from UN

Welfare reform that allows only 72 months of benefits in a lifetime

SSDI reform eliminating Disability claims for mysterious unprovable diabilities like IBS and back pain.

Raise the SSI payroll tax to 6

If the government does not produce an approved budget by June 1 for the next FY a special election for all government offices is to be held so those who cannot or will not do what is best or compromise can be removed by the voters.
End selective services.

Appoint a panel of 50 "ordinary citizens" with no previous political experience above county level and pay them $100K each year to strike down and eliminate retarded laws and regulations. 2 year terms, no reappointment, panel has a 20 year charter.

Seriously???

That's like me going to my boss and demanding a raise because I maxed out my credit card, my salary just isn't high enough to cover my spending and I have no plans to curtail it. I would probably be fired on the spot! The same should happen to Congress.

(Does anyone beside me think it strange that an 80 year old woman takes an elementary school kid on a date?) Anyway, I'd only ask two questions: (1) How long have you or your parents known Nancy Pelosi and (2) does her breath smell stale like dead old women?

I have a feeling that back in 1903, she was a cheerleading Barbie in high school, no brains but she hooked onto her to be rich husband.
His money got her where she is.

wait, this means that money is the root of evil...
