| Except it was the homeowner that did not want to deal with or pay for having it repaired.

| In what way, shape or form has the homeowner not paid for this? Millions of lost homes, wrecked credit, wrecked economy, the rise of Too Big To Fail, Obama. Shall I go on?

| The community reinvestment act didn't amount to much until the Clinton years when a number of regulatory and tax changes started pumping the air into the bubble. Executive compensation based on stock prices, loosening the SEC rules so that Wall Street could come up with creative ways to feed the fire the GSE's were building. Bush came in and in April of '01 warned of the coming train wreck. There was no problem then, only a coming one he, and many others, correctly identified. Then, they let it go. The GOP serves no purpose if it warns of problems be it Social Security, The Great Society, GSE's, all of that and then, upon earning a chance to fix things, makes things worse instead.
