He should have warned the burgler

ANOTHER REASON WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA TO BREAK INTO A TEXAS HOME: ARMED ELDERLY MAN KILLS HOME INTRUDER

Once police identified the suspect as Pipkins, officers notified his family. Some of those family members showed up at the house and expressed their anger at the homeowner for not issuing a warning.

He could have used a warning, Lakesha Thompson, Pipkins sister-in-law, said. He could have let him know that he did have a gun on his property and he would use it in self-defense.

Ammo is too expensive to fire a warning shot, sorry in my house you definitely won't get one and I won't take time to let you know it's coming.

PS, good shot homeowner!

I guess the elderly homeowner forgot that Pipkins sent him a warning note that he was going to break into the house. I can't believe Pipkin's family members showed up at the victim's house; essentially saying their criminal relative was the victim. I never say I have heard it all, anymore, because every day there is a topper to the last thing I heard.

Unbelievable. It just boggles my mind that these women think that POS should have been warned. WTF?

I thought about it for a minute after my blood pressure went down, and decided that there were only 2 ways his tribe knew where he was. A) the po-po told them, or B) they knew where he was and why he was there.

Any other theories?

Oh, and good shoot. Too bad the old man's going to have to move now.

Now is a good time to retire to Florida for him. We love people like him.

Yes, BOP, good shoot, since the poor elderly gentlemen was a repeat victim, and Pipkins was a repeat offender. Don't try to form theories in this day and age about why crap happens; it is futile. The fact that the criminal's family would show up to protest about their criminal relative not being given a warning, is about as whacked as the world can get. Well, this story just nailed my response to the question asked on another thread about registering my guns. My vote: NO.

I'd like to send the elderly gent a box of ammo. It's getting expensive to try and replace lately.

Sounds like the Grand Jury shouldn't even have to take a seat to rule on this one.

Sad thing is now this guy will have to deal with this POS's entire family.

Scenario: It's O'dark thirty. The house is dark. Everybody's sleeping.
A glass falls and breaks. (Or some other uncommon sound @ O'dark thirty.

Trust me.....I'll let the guy know there is a gun on the property etc..
