| I think it's cute... ...that y'all are putting up such a brave front but Kerry is the only one of the major dem candidates that has NO chance to win. Kerry is left of Kennedy, as I've said. This is un-spinnable. He built that record voting on other peoples legislation. He has done virtually nothing in the Senate. He is less a man of the people than any Democratic canddiate since Adlai Stephenson. And nowhere near as intelligent as Adlai. His pubic faux pas are political suicide. The more that leaks out about his marriage, the worse it gets. Commercial at the end of the Campaign: Cue chirping birds: "When George and Laura need a break, they go to their ranch in Crawford." Cue pick up truck, clearing underbrush. Lemonade. "When John Kerry needs a break...he goes to his wifes house." Cue John knocking on door. Finale: "If John kerry's wife doesn't trust him, how can you?" He has NO chance.

| Republicans are such candy asses. Here's their commercial: --------------------------------- Various pics of John Kerry with v/o and text on screen: "Did his training wheels fall off?" "I actually did vote for his $87 billion, before I voted against it." "I don't own an SUV. My family does." "They're the most crooked, you know, lying group I've ever seen." "What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States" "Somebody told me the other day that the Secret Service has orders that if George Bush is shot, they're to shoot Quayle. … There isn't any press here, is there?" "I don't fall down. The son of a b*tch knocked me over." "No, but I have thought about cutting all your f*cking legs off at the knees." Tag line reads: "This is John Kerry. Any questions?" --------------------------------- But the RNC is too chickensh*t to do it.

| [But the RNC is too chickensh*t to do it. [/B][/QUOTE] I prefer their latest commercial -- vote to reelect the three biggest leaders in the world .. ..... ... Bush, Dick and Colon j/k -- Chris Rock said that. |

What Kerry did back in the USofA AFTER his service totally negated ANYTHING he did honorable FOR his country. He should not be allowed to play the war-hero card at all!Hillary already served 8 years as the unofficial President, so I see her settling for nothing less that a full run in 2008 - not second-fiddle to anyone as VP...unless she accepts a position as VP and then invites the Pres over to Fort Marcey Park for a "picnic"...... Republican? Anyone's guess. We'll have to wait until this one is over and who might emerge as an outspoken critic of the Pres if Kerry wins this year.

See, if someone was an alcoholic ONCE, but stopped at a point in time, and stopped drinking *afterwards*, they become a former alcoholic - they've recovered. They've overcome it. If someone was 'wicked' at one point, and then 'repents', they put away the old ways and have changed. You might have your own opinions about their 'repentance', but what once was 'bad' is now 'good'. You get the idea yet? The fact that the butterfly was ONCE a caterpillar doesn't negate that it is a butterfly NOW. But the fact that it is a butterfly NOW *does* negate that it was a caterpillar ONCE. Enter John Kerry. Went to Vietnam. Did hero stuff (choke! ok, we'll concede that, even though it's all rather questionable). Woo hoo. Yee ha. Wave the flag. AFTERWARDS he repudiated ALL of it. Threw away his medals (well, someone ELSE's, actually). Claimed he committed war crimes. Repudiated the whole Vietnam experience. Campaigned against the war. Continued to protest and demonstrate against the war, and against what he HIMSELF did there. It matters what you do and say afterwards. He doesn't get to say "oh wait, I'm still a war hero". Nope. You said it was wrong. Now, it's right, and still wrong? Roll the clock back 200 years - one of the Revolutionary War's most daring, brave and heroic figures - took Ticonderoga - led the northern campaigns - won at Saratoga - but - he later betrayed the American cause by offering to give West Point to the British. Benedict Arnold. Historically, there's no one quite as heroic as he was prior to his betrayal. *NO* one. His life in battle was legendary at that point. But it is what you do afterwards that matters. George Wallace was unquestionably a bigot. But before he died, he changed. Being crippled humbled him, and the man who once vowed "segregation forever" and believed that blacks should never be allowed to vote, changed his mind, and his motto became "justice, and mercy". He apologized to civil rights leaders, and after many years, won their praise. See, it matters what you do AFTER you do the bad things. If you're a good guy that turns *bad*, the good doesn't matter. If you're a bad guy who turns *good*, the bad doesn't matter.

And alcoholism - well, I used that because W *was* a drinker at one time. Depending on how you define "alcoholic", the situation is the same - he doesn't drink NOW. My sister's an alcoholic, and has to fight it all the time. But it's something she fights *against*, and doesn't embrace. If a person *was* a sexist, ass-grabbing misogynist, but later changes - yeah, I'd keep a wary eye - but it's what a man is NOW that matters. If he's *still* a chauvinist pig, that does matter. I do tend to be a fairly forgiving person, but only to those who at least appear to change. Everyone deserves a second chance if they're sincere. Kerry presents an enigma. He wants to bask in the glory of his war-hero status, but at the same time repudiate it as wrong. You know, it's like saying you're proud of being a Christian, but deny it as your religion. You can't do *both*.
