| They probably won't. I'm sure Lucas likes the press and probably agrees with the message.

| Ole' Flip Flop gave them plenty of material this afternoon on the floor of the Senate try to defend the Constitution against what the Democraps call the 'Nuclear Option'. In fact, the story line they talk about at MoveOn sounds an awful lot like a Shrillary Clinton or John Flip-Flop scenario starting today. |

| We're not talking about who may or may not have coined the term. We're talking about current usage. |

| Board Mommy | I watched a bit of the Priscilla Owen stuff this morning on C-SPAN. They're supposed to be debating her nomination, then one of the Democrats (not sure which one because I was listening, not watching) took the stage and said they'd supported some other judge that Bush has nominated and could they talk about him? Then the Republican dude (I want to say it was Sessions) said no, we're here to debate Priscilla Owen, not get sidetracked with other nominees. Then a woman Democrat (Boxer, maybe?) says that it's too bad the Republicans are using the "nuclear option" when there's bipartisan support for this other judicial nominee that they could discuss rather than Owen.SHUT UP AND TAKE THE VOTE!!!!! ![]() That's what's nice about C-SPAN - you can actually watch it and see for yourself what's going on, rather than relying on whatever crap the Washington Post makes up. They're supposed to be there debating the Owen nomination and the Democrats are trying to sweep her away and move the debate over to someone else. I'd like to see Frist shut this crap down. Who gives a crap? There's nothing about Priscilla Owen that everyone in America doesn't already know - she was only nominated four years ago. WHY can't they just take the vote???

| I love politics. Each side is so convinced that they and only they are absolutly right. It's uglier than marriage. :

| Vrai, Frist and Reid had a similar exchange earlier this week. Reid wanted to discuss the nominees that the Dems approve of before getting to the controversial ones (at least, controversial for the Dems). That would have allowed them to show how open they are... right before they closed the door. Luckily, Frist closed the door first and said no, we'll start with Owens. It looks like it's getting to be fish or cut bait time for Reid and the Democrats and they're starting to weasel a bit. Hopefully Frist won't join them in the weasel pit. |
