Bush is crazy

The national anthem should be sung in English _ not Spanish _ President Bush declared Friday, amid growing restlessness over the millions of immigrants here illegally.

"One of the things that's very important is, when we debate this issue, that we not lose our national soul," the president exclaimed. "One of the great things about America is that we've been able to take people from all walks of life bound as one nation under God. And that's the challenge ahead of us."

They played it this morning on WTOP and the singer got about two bars into it and I burst into tears in a fever of patriotism.

"Oh say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"



I think every country in the world should translate that into their own language and sing it every morning. And they can start their morning with a chant - "USA! USA! Land of the free! Home of the brave!"

And PS, if they want to come over and partake of said land of the free, they can do it legally.

I'm sorry, I dont want to start a fight about this. I do not agree. If other countries want to learn it...Learn it in English!!! I think its crap!!

I don't care what language it's sung in - as long as they MEAN EVERY WORD.

If they mean every word.........they should have no problem learning it in English!!!

No fight - I just see it differently than you do.

Our heritage is immigration and melting pot. America is a symbol of freedom throughout the world, regardless of what the Leftist media says. People come from all over to live the American dream. No such thing as a "Chinese Dream" or a "Somalian Dream". Hell, there's not even a "French Dream", unless it something a hooker does to you.

Nobody dreams of Communism, except hippies who've never had to live under it.

I understand the American Dream, but if they want to live it. They should learn our language, and obey our laws!
