which is inaccurate. Bush can recommend any damn thing he wants, doesn't mean it's going to happen unless the Congress creates an appropriation for it. The fact that the Republican Congress is funding everything under the sun (and then some with all the pork and BS that goes on with the amendments to the appropriation bills) is why the spending has gotten out of hand (not to mention 9/11 and this little war thing).

Good point. It just made Clinton look even more like a hypocrite when he got caught playing the Whore-monica. If he had any balls, he would have said, "I'm vetoing the DOMA because it's just a scare tactic--the idea that marriage needs defending from gay marriage is a load of crap."

But I think the "worst in history" claim would be tough to prove without some historical research. I'm sure there were some VP candidates in the 1800s who were such drunken lechers that even Ted Kennedy would look down on them.
