Local politics...

Besides the local rag and JPC's diatribes...

...where can I learn about what local politicians are running for?

I don't want to just vote for the name that sounds best.

My personal philosophy is to vote against the encumbent. Since they're all crooks, the new one will have to start from scratch learning how to screw over the tax payers.

Can you believe that approximately 98% of the Congress gets re-elected?

What is hard to believe? They are in the position with the connections and they have the machinary to work for them.

Sure, the general belief is "better the devil you know". My way ensures term limits.

I can understand that. Plus the legislatures make the legislation therefore making it even more convenient. The number still seems high to me though, especially considering the low approval rating for Congress overall.
