How the hell could that be?

You reduce taxes yet collect more than expected by 200-250 billion?

I could have sworn the tax cuts were going to break us by making revenues lower and lower the way the Democrats had been talking...

On the other side of the coin, read this in my hometown N.J. paper this morning from a normal everyday Joe.
"The state shutdown made us think of something.
We remember being told that if we could have a state lottery, all the state's money problems could be solved.
So we got the lottery.
We remember being told that if we allowed casinos to come to Atlantic City, all the state's money problems would be solved.
So we brought casinos to Atlantic City.
Now we're told the state is $5 billion in debt while other states have surpluses."

May I mention N.J. is primarily a Democratic State where the not so privileged get all the support they need and they want to raise the sales tax to 7%. JPC could live a life of luxury up there.

I'm surprised the NY Times would admit that.

When you read the rest of the story, they work quickly to discredit the achievement...

Which why we should never listen to people who don't understand economics - if they did, they wouldn't be Democrats.

Read the whole thing this time. Early in the article they refer to the "wealthy" where a conservative would say "middle class". The last few paragraphs are total double speak.
