Campaign Finance Day

Today's the day the Campaign Finance reports are due at the various Election Boards.

It'll be interesting to see who donated to the various campaigns. This is another way to gather information on the various candidates.

I'm new here and happened onto this forum and saw this thread.
I did some looking into the candidates finances beginning with
William Chambers. Here is what I have found so far...

Qualshire Land Development LLC $500
Mar-Ber Development Corp. $500
Calvert Commercial Real Estate $250
Marrick Properties, Inc. $1000

Chesapeake Amusements, Inc. $1000
Rod N Reel Marina West LLC $2000
Rod N Reel Hotel LLC $2000
Above 3 owned by Gerald Donovan (Democrat)

Total $7250
9 contributions from democrats (individuals)... total $3375

In-kind services from Main Street Copy
owned by a democrat $3112

Total from builders and democrats $13737
Total from republicans $5175

Dig deep people, there is way more to come.
It seems he is more of a democrat and in the builders (pro growth) pockets.
Maybe it should switch parties?

I am working on the other candidates, just give me time.

Democrat identities compiled from voter registration data from
the Board of Elections.

For those who would plan on looking I will tell you that I filed a 2006 Affidavit of Limited Contributions and Expenditures.

We kept in under $1,000.00

Well.

I don't know what "pro growth" exactly means when you say it, so you could help by explaining...

but I do know that it might be dangerous to confuse pro-business with "pro growth"...all of those builders are businesses. Especially where the real estate company is concerned, houses sell indepedently of buildouts, as people move here, there, and everywhere.

The rest is odd, but, it seems reasonable to assume that a person might have friends from another party who know them, know their character, know their drive, their energy, their intentions, and support them across party lines.

ESPECIALLY in a County Commissioner race.

Don't shoot the messenger.
Pro-growth. More residential housing, commercial development, expansion
of the town centers, etc.
Builders and developers by nature are (pro-growth), no growth, no buildy.
Yes they are businesses, but if that's the case, where are all the other
business contributions? From say...retail, farmers, auto dealers, etc.

Your last paragraph just makes my argument. According to you, most
republicans must question his, "character...drive...energy...intention..."
If 72% of a republicans contributions come from democrats, that my
friend speaks volumes.

You nailed him... he's in the pocket of the developers, the Chamber of Commerce insiders and Gerald Donovan. This is one candidate that should be left at the post.
