Deputies From Calvert Co. F.O.P. Lodge #109 Endorses Joey McKenny For Sheriff !!

Our Deputies in Calvert County have voted to endorse Joey McKenny as the next Sheriff of Calvert County. Things must really be bad in the Sheriff's Office for Deputies to endorse another candidate!

Sheriff Evans in the four years he has been Sheriff has hired more and promoted more Deputies than any other Sheriff in the Counties history for four years. That being said there are no more road patrol Deputies on the street now then when he took office. He has taken almost all the personnel he hire and placed in specialized divisions. The population in this county has gone out of site, but there are no more police on the street to combat the crime increase. To put it simple Deputies don't have the back-up they need on the street to make sure they come home safe to their families each night.

By the way I'm just another concerned citizen.

Injuries happen quite often I am sure. Nothing too serious so it hasn't made the news yet... thankfully. Chances are, it could happen anywhere at anytime. Nothing in police work is routine. Why aren't we doing everything we can to prevent it?

A better question...

"when was the last time a citizen has been injured on the hard streets of calvert?"

That comment just shows your ignorance! Deputies are in physical confrontations with suspects several times a week in Calvert County and just because it doesn’t result in an injury doesn’t mean that Calvert County is a safer place for the police. As a matter a fact I would say it is a more dangerous than New York to be the police. At least there your back-up is just around the corner. In Calvert County you may have to wait 30 minutes for help to get to you.

You guys want McKenny to be your boss then you've got my vote. You have to work for him, not us. It's one way we can support you guys (and gals). Keep up the good work.

Without a doubt in my opinion Joey McKenny is the best choice for Calvert County and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
