Edwards is what, 100 acres. I think W's spread is over 2,000.

Texas scrub is probably a bit cheaper per acre than Chapel Hill, however.

Edwards wealth could buy and sell George W. Bush all day. Bush is reportedly worth under 20 million, Edwards is worth 10 times that and more.

His 100 acre parcel in North Carolina is valued ($3.1M) about the same as a 100 acre parcel in Texas with equivalent property on it. Its the house more than the land. A typical NE/E Texas ranch runs about $2-5k an acre. In some places in West Texas you can still get land around $500-$1k an acre (but there will be almost nothing around for a hundred miles).

Zimmie - Edwards estimated worth is just over $30 million. According to finance news articles, Bush has a net worth of anywhere from about $10-25M.

Isn't it a foregone conclusion that one has to be "rich" to become President of the United States?

...give that?

Arkansas ring any bells? Past governor? His wife is now a senator...from New York...

When he moved into the Whitehouse, the salary was more money than he'd ever made, by far.

Well, Bill Clinton was different. On many levels.

He may not have been "rich", personally...but he had some friends who were big spenders.

Plus...he was the right guy for the job. However, we will never agree on that, so no reason to debate it.
