If anyone can live up to the nickname, Ivan Vasilyevich surely can. Mr. Terrible (as we like to call him) was undoubtedly one of Russia’s most terrifying tsars. As the grand prince of Moscow, and the first proclaimed Tsar of Russia, Ivan sought to impose military discipline in a heavy-handed manner to strengthen his centralized government. Of course, he also embroiled his empire in disastrous wars with Sweden and Poland. But it wasn’t questionable foreign policy that earned him his catchy nickname. Exceedingly paranoid after first wife Anastasia was poisoned in 1553, Ivan began killing almost indiscriminately. In addition to bludgeoning his own son to death and drowning an entire village (an entire village!) of 1,500 in an icy river, Ivan is best known for blinding the architects of St. Basil’s Cathedral after its completion: He was so impressed with its design, he wanted to make sure they never again built anything as beautiful.

It's interesting how the more things change, the more they stay the same. We hear the stories about Ivan the Terrible and gasp in horror. Yet nobody back then thought to invade his country and liberate his people.

Nobody does...

Hillary Clinton and the Democrats want to wait until the elections to make this an issue. In other words, they want to make this a political message and use the deaths of 400,000 people for politics.

It's absolutely disgraceful how Hillary wants to play politics with this. Instead of presenting a bill to Congress, she wants Sudan to be her campaign issue.
