You could be $700 richer!!

Did anyone else tune to CBS to watch the new "Amazing Race" and find "60 Minutes" running over instead?

When Rooney's segment came on he began talking about voting... for every individual issue. The craziest one, to me, was this:
Quote:
Of the 1.4 million soldiers and sailors we have in the U.S. Army and Navy, 325,000 are stationed outside the United States. Do you know what they’re all doing out there? If we brought them all back home and then reduced our military by half, that would save us about $220 billion. That’s about $700 for each of us. If you got the money in cash, would you vote for it? Yes or no?
So the mass desire for instant gratification would be slightly appeased in trade for a lot less security. In a time of global terrorism, no less.

This idiot doesn't have any real power, but how many that are empowered think similarly?

Rooney's blather was not without its merit, however, as he said this:
Quote:
IQ: Every American should have to take an IQ test. Anyone who scored under 80 would be considered too dumb to vote. Yes or no?
That would be fun! Of course, it would not necessarily make government better because the majority of radicals are not retarded, just entrenched ideologues.

Once Alzheimer's reaches a certain point, no amount of medications will help. This guy's cranial arteries have gotta be hard as lead 'cause there's no evidence his head is getting any oxygen.
