| Your running for office? My how are you doing that when you can't even get things you read correctly? To slander someone you have to tell a lie about that person. Who have I told a lie about? |

| Further, being proud of being a husband and a supportive father isn't exactly "blowing my own horn". It's my obligation that I do this, I ask for no extra credit nor should I get any! |

| Hmmm...I think you two are totally missing the other's point. SMCOP: It isvery honorable to see a man stick to his vows, something that most marraiges lack these days. You should be proud of yourself, and don't see it as boasting. See it as being a real man. JPC: I don't think he was slandering anyone. He didn't name any names. But perhaps the deadbeats know who they are, and don't need to be named. From what I have read from Mr. Cop Dude, I doubt he lacks the strength of character, and his morals are outlined in the fact that he leads by example- sometimes that is the strongest form of getting a message across, do you agree? |

It is slander when the poster says he is a "cop" then degrades citizens as "deadbeats" based on his own pompous self-praised-life and totally ignoring the woman preaching in the link HERE. Me and he have communicated before on these forums so it is more then the couple post of this one thread. ![]()

I suppose your saying that this "cop" is tacking the self-righteous degradation onto "parents" and not onto "citizens" and I say that makes the slander even worse and not better.Parents, police officers, military personel are all citizens too. My point was in the woman preacher telling us that the slander of "deadbeat parent" is an injustice, link HERE again. It is the slander that is more wrong then to whom he slanders. ![]()

| He didn't apply it to all parents, only to those who fit the description. That was an interesting clip, JPC, and I thank you for sharing it. When I leave Maryland in March, I will be going to start my career in family court- in hopes to prevent some of the very harsh truths that Carol Rhodes spoke of. It is only slander if it is a lie. The courts DO twist things to fit their agenda sometimes, but I don't think that is where he was going with that. Being a dead beat parent is not gender related. It is a choice that the parent makes. Back to the topic of women preaching, I think it is a beautiful thing. You will hear things in a new perspective, as men and women tend to think differently. |

Since you say you are getting into the family Court system with the perspective that some parents are "deadbeats" then are world is not improved by your action.Plus, slander does not have to be a lie to be slander. Slander can be done by misrepresentation, and by twisting the truth, or leaving info out, or telling truthful things that are not to be told, and other ways. ![]()
