You say 'Since the Bible is of the Spirit, it must be Spiritually appraised' and I think that is the crux of the problems concerning it. Not everyone has the same spirit. People gather what they want to from the bible and per how they feel can put anything they want into it.

Unless you extrapolate directly from the text it can be different to anyone. Unfortunatly, taking directly from the text results in contradictions as seen above.
Not everyone has the same spirit but everyone can have the same Spirit, the Holy Spirit. The Bible must be read in faith or in the true seeking of finding God. Then the Holy Spirit will guide a person's understanding.

Yes. The original manuscripts (which we don't have today) were flawless. The copies we have today all agree almost in their entirety. The few minor differences have nothing to do with salvation and who God is, so they are secondary.

2A is right. The JW's SAY that "their bible" is translated from the original manuscripts but there were no originals available when they came to be in the mid 1800's. Plus, their bible differs drastically from all of the others, so we know they didn't. The verse in question is from Leviticus 17. It clearly says not to "eat blood" (meaning drink it). Transfusions were not done back then, so this shows that they were mistaken about this and that it was a "man made" law. I still don't know if Charles Russell or others translated their book.

ok .... but people aren't standard. Faith can be fine, but not everyone will get the same things from reading the bible. If everyone did then there would be a great case for belief.

Everyone can't have the same spirit. Well unless we were all robots or something (but then we wouldn't have souls).

No, that's not what I said. I said he will be judged, as will we all. I am NOT here to speak for what his judgement will be.

but if you believe, then you have to know what to avoid to end up being judged poorly right?

So would you say that his beliefs (in accordence with your own) would doom him to eternity in the pit?

You are asking question for the purpose of ambush. Nothing more. It's pretty transparent.

You want him to say "yes" so you can go "AHA! Seeee? You and other Christians are offensive and judgemental!"

He's been making a specific point NOT to be judgemental. I should think you'd appreciate that. He hasn't said anyone's going to hell, but you're itching for him to do so, so you can pounce.

Holy Spirit. Spirit with an uppercase S. Totally different from spirit. And the Holy Spirit is the same.

Each person gets something different from the Bible when read in faith because each person is in a different place in their own life and God provides what we need from His word.

you're 100% right.

I always hear that atheists are judgemental and offensive and always trouncing on beliefs and being all insulting. I'm just pointing out that it's on both sides.

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. This Person is easily my favorite Religion forumer because he does a great job of not jumping guns for any side.

You are going into the typical circular arguments that many from the atheist community have on this forum. If that is your intent, I will cease further discussion.

but that then throws the whole thing out of whack. Everyone reads and gains from it differently, then how can one offshoot be right and one be wrong?
