Not really. You may have noticed that the vast majority of the bible isn't about scientific accuracy. The point of the parables Jesus told was not to convey empirical information. It was to relate a concept. And he told parables in terms that the people he was talking to would understand.

I think anyone who gets bent over the governor of a state holding a day of prayer is a mega pussy and should be euthanized to prevent them from getting bent over the hundreds of thousands of opportunities they face in live where they may be offended.
