That's where you are wrong. That little word "a" [god] DENIES that Jesus is God and that's enough to send one into eternal separation from Him. That's why I said there are too many mistranslations in their bible to list here but thank you for finding the one I was going to quote to you.
Thank you 2A for the link. mAlice can read this if he/she wants to but I'm not sure he'll understand these errors in translation. Almost ALL heresies begin with the Deity of Christ (or the denial of it). That's what separates all other teachings from Christianity. Some even go as far as to say that He didn't even die on a cross! Anyhow, this is the main teaching problem that Christianity has with JW's, Mormons, etc. Jesus IS God, Jehovah, Yahweh, etc., but He is not a god or any other (mis)interpretation thereof.
P.S. If you're going to compare translations, you should quote the same verse in all versions. You quotes John 1 v 1 & 2 in the watchtower version and different verses in the others.

In the simplest of terms, if all else has failed - water rations, lawsuits, etc. - then why would you want to deny the one comfort left - prayer. If you don't pray then no harm no foul. If you do pray, then maybe you are comforted by the thought that your neighbors as well as your fellow countrymen/women are praying with you.

Hoping all that pray are praying. Very sad situation down here.
