That little baby is in my prayers. How did the surgery go?

We got word last night that the surgery was successful, Praise God and thank you all.
Baby boy is not out-of-the-woods by any means though. Born so pre-mature and with this heart condition, he'll need any prayers you would be so kind to offer for quite some time.
Mom and Dad are leaning heavily on the Lord, knowing that the Divine Physician ultimately heals, and brings comfort in these times.
I cannot imagine how anyone hangs on in such a situation, watching and waiting while your beloved child fights for life, if they don't believe in God. Without Him, there is nothing to hope for, just death.
I'm not looking for a response, this is just a rhetorical question.
