Not is LP, they meet at Leonardtown HS, but it would be worth your drive. SouthPoint | Passionate about People Great church -- relaxed, friendly, inviting, great programs for the kids.

Pastor Chad is a graduate of Masters Seminary ( John Macarthurs school) not to mention a real personable guy that likes to teach when he preaches and has a way of getting people excited about the word of God.

I have never understood the "nondenominational" church. Is there a particular reason this is what you want? (that may be kinda personal, if it is feel free to ignore :)

I have found that some of the nondenominational churches tend to be a little..shall we say, cult-ish. so visiting is good. Also sometimes it is helpful to take a minute to think about what you believe (even if it is very few things) and try to find a church that fulfills that rather than a certain label. all religions (and most individual churches) now have websites that detail their beliefs a great and no pressure way to start... I have had a few friends who wanted to look for a nondenominational church because they felt because they weren't "born" into a certain religion, they wouldn't be equipped or even one friend who said that she didn't want to be forced into a "rigid" set of beliefs she believed that some churches had. they are in various protestant churches now, and happy. I personally am Lutheran because that matched what I believed the best, and made the most "sense" to me. So someone else's suggestion's may not work for you. If you are simply looking for a social outlet then there may be other options besides church, or even churches that focus mostly on that and develop belief systems around the social aspect. either way I hope you find something that satisfies your needs..church can be a great addition to life.

Actually I find "looking for a church" to be a misunderstanding of Christianity. Some believe a church is a building or an organization or a particular denomination.

The church, according to the Bible, is the body of Christ. There are "churches" at various locations that are part of "the church." But "the church" is the body of Christ.

Quote:
Colossians 1:18-24

18He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

19For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

20and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

21And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,

22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach--

23if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

24Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.

I was always a non believer in god and the whole bible. Now i am at time in my life where i guess i want to understand more about it. It wouldn't hurt to look into different religions.
