Will our churches ever clean themselves up?

No. According to the Holy Bible, things will actually get worse within the churches:
Quote:
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (2 Timothy 4:2-5)
and finally a falling away into the deception of antichrist's control of religion (for a short period)

Quote:
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
Also reference what the Spirit says to the "churches" in the Book of Revelation, chapters 2 & 3. That's where we're headed now.

It is not the church or buildings or institutions. It is people, sinful people, dealing with their pride and self wants.

Things are going to get worse, inside or outside the church of Christianity.

What happens in the church is only magnified to show the world that what happens in the world is really no different.....according to the media, at least, that the outside is no worse.

Sad, but going to happen.

Do you really believe I was talking about anything other than the people?

No, not at all. I was just expounding on, or emphasizing that point.

Exactly. Also, according to the Holy Bible, the greater problem points to the "religious leaders" within the churches as being responsible for not upholding the highest integrity and moral leadership as required by their ministerial vows and duties. When church leadership perverts and strays from God's Truth the gullible congregation follows right behind.

This was happening even during the first-century church age and has been prophesied to become worse in the end of days (our time):

Quote:

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. (Matthew 23:13-15)

And (Jesus) said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. (Mark 12:38-40)

Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
(Luke 20:46-47)

Perhaps now you all might understand why I am so critical of our churches and why have very little trust in any of them. My faith has been questioned, and I have been accused of unchristian-like behavior because I refuse to attend church (on the bases of fellowship). When our churches are perverting and straying from God’s truth, what Gospel are you really following?

And the Catholic Church is far from the only guilty church.

PsyOps, I have not questioned your faith in Christ nor have I ever accused you of being "un-Christian" because you refuse to attend church. If anything, I truly understand your thoughts on this as my wife and I stopped attending denominational churches long ago - basically for the same reason that you have stated. We have found greater peace and spiritual fulfillment just as much at home in family Bible-study and private prayer each day of the week.

The churches I do attend (on occasion) are non-denominational Evangelical and Messianic Jewish congregations but we are not "members" of any since believers do not need to become members of any denominational church in order to be saved and have fellowship with the New Testament Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour.
