Why, so that fastball won't strike you square in the face?

You must not have noticed the group that posted the video: MormonMessages. If Satan is so powerful and we're so easily fooled, I guess it's another leap of faith to believe that you have anything correct on this matter.

Can someone show me where in the Bible it says that men can become Gods one day if they are good enough?
Im sure its in there, the Mormans would not add to Gods word like that would they?
Im pretty embarrassed to admit it, but I just dont remember reading about it in the Bible, You would certainly think that a detail like that would be mentioned at least once..

Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written.

However, what Mormons often hang their hat on is this verse:

Moroni 10:4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
When discussing if the Bible (the real one in Christianity) can be added to, if Gods word can be added to by the Mormans, are you really using the first book of the Mormans to show that it can be added to?
I think we would have to stick to the Christian Bible to find the answer.
And, by doing so we see that the Bible begins with the start of Humanity in Genesis, and if read through it gives the instructions or laws to live by before Jesus Christ was born, and then again after, because there were some changes in things. It follows all the way through to Revelations where the end of humanity is told.
So, If Gods word Goes from start to end of humanity, I don't think there is much need to say anything more.
Or, do you suggest that God forgot some stuff along the way and decided to just go ahead and add it in.
Of course there are the references to Satan doing things like this to confuse people and steer them in the wrong direction.

And, Im not saying anything bad about the Mormans, they have their religion, they are happy with it, they believe it and Im cool with that... It just does not fall into the category of a true Christian any more than the Jewish faith or the Muslim faith.

That is exactly the deceptive snare that the LDS missionaries asked me to do when I was taking their home study.

Here are just a few of the ABC's taught by the LDS about Salvation:

Quote:

1. Salvation

A. Jesus' sacrifice was not able to cleanse us from all our sins, (murder and repeated adultery are exceptions), (Journal of Discourses, vol. 3, 1856, p. 247).

B. Good works are necessary for salvation (Articles of Faith, p. 92).

C. There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p. 188).

Looks like "C" blows it right out of the water, really nothing more can be said in their favor.

That's just it; I don't believe the LDS account!

Only proves the point that there are religions that preach another gospel and another Jesus - different from the accounts mentioned in the New Testament.

However, it is my responsibility and the responsibility of all true Born-Again Believers in the New Testament Jesus Christ to speak up and warn those who are caught up in deceptive cults and pseudo-Christian teachings. That is part of The Great Commission that Jesus instructed His followers to do.

BTW: This thread started out with posting an article by a Catholic priest proclaiming that Mormons are not Christians and yet we have the forum RCCers getting mad at me because I am of the same opinion as their priest that Mormons are not Christian!
