![]() Hi cheezgrits. Sorry that the Bible verses that I submit seem to "grit on you" but it's just that the things you post seem to have a parallel teaching that can be found in the Holy Bible. Remember, you even once said that we walk on similar paths and that's why I wanted to show the similarities. Anyway, please forgive me for posting another example that relates to much the same as yours regarding replacing love with placing importance more on "monetary things". This is what Jesus said and I am sure that you would also agree here: Quote:

| Something else needs to be pointed out to everyone: While a lot of those principles are very good for a moral life, they won't get anyone to Heaven. Just like Buddhism and a few others; They have great principles for moral living but just "being good" doesn't get you into Heaven...

| Elder's Meditation of the Day January 14 "It is a native tradition to sit in a circle and talk-to share what is in your heart." --John Peters (Slow Turtle), WAMPANOAG The talking circle is also a listening circle. The talking circle allows one person to talk at a time for as long as they need to talk. So much can be gained by listening. Is it a coincidence that the Creator gave us one mouth and two ears? The power of the circle allows the heart to be shared with each other. What we share with each other also heals each other. When we talk about our pain in the circle, it is distributed to the circle, and we are free of the pain. The talking circle works because when the people form a circle, the Great Mystery is in the center. My Creator, give me the courage to share, and the courage to listen. Seems particularly fitting as of late... |

The reality is that there will always be differences and when people really speak what's on their mind it truly does come from the heart. The Bible mentions that there are two kinds of people who, when they speak, will reveal what is truly in his/her heart. Again, this is the reality of the world we live in as addressed by the words that Jesus spoke: Quote:

| Elder's Meditation of the Day January 15 It's all spirit and it's all connected." --Grandfather William Commanda, ALGONQUIN If everything is connected, we cannot disconnect. To disconnect is not a real choice. This is why we are always spiritual no matter what we do. Every alcoholic is spiritual. All our brothers and sisters are spiritual. We may not be behaving correctly, but nevertheless, we are spiritual. Our choice is to live out of harmony with spiritual ways or in harmony with spiritual ways. Everything is spiritual. Great Spirit, give me the knowledge to be in harmony with the spirit today. |

Again, while the prayer is a good one it must be a sincere desire on the part of each individual that they want to be spiritually connected. We are told that Christ is the one whom we can turn to for that intercession that is provided through Him and in Him. The reality is that there are many people who do not trust in Christ, believing they can achieve spiritually harmony through another way and then there are those who believe by faith and trust in Christ's Promise that He Is The Way The Truth and The Life and that no one can come to the Spirit Father/Creator except through Him alone. | I heard it this way.... suppose there was a number.... like 9999 of good things you had to do to get to heaven..... suppose you decided to take that step because heaven seems so wonderful..... and then.... after completing 9998 wonderful deeds you got hit by a truck and died on the spot..... Well.... there is an alternative.... Jesus said you can get to heaven through Him.... all you have to do is believe in Him.... once you have put your faith in Him.... [that's what believing actually is].... He'll send the Spirit to help you the rest of the way.... so that way if a truck hits you after salvation on day one or after good deed 9998 you'll still get to go to Heaven.... I like His plan better....
