From what I have read, God says yes. Now what? Where are you going with this? We know Gods answer.

Your first post ask for ones opinion, so am a bit confused. Personally, I haven't an opinion...and I do not get to decide.

Hi hotcoffee -

The answer to this question is found in the Holy Bible.

However, why limit it to just one category?

The Truth is that you would have to then start several threads to ask the same question of other sinful situations. For example: Is it possible for adulterers to go to Heaven; Is it possible for fornicators to go to Heaven; Is it possible for drunkards to go to Heaven; Is it possible for murderers to go to Heaven; Is it possible for liars to go to Heaven; Is it possible for cheaters to go to Heaven; Is it possible for extortioners to go to Heaven; Is it possible for bigots to go to Heaven; Is it possible for... well, you get the idea.

The only way forgiveness of sin any sin is possible for one to be able to go to Heaven is throughRepentance: Turning away from that which is sin, and then turning to the Only One who can forgive one's sins - Jesus Christ, The Son of the Living God. Confessing the sin that separates one from God and turning his/her life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and becoming a born-again Believer through personal faith alone in the Risen Saviour as mentioned in The New Testament Jesus Christ.

Sin (any sin) separates us from God. Genuine Repentance (separation from that sin) through faith in the Atoning Blood of Christ is what washes the sin(s) away and that's what makes it possible for a sinful person to go to Heaven.

Quote:
Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother takes another to court—and this in front of unbelievers!

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

(1 Corinthians 6:3-11)

What are you reading, and which God??

IF they do go to heaven do they spend eternity as a pillar of salt?

This addresses who knows what is in the heart of man:

Quote:

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.

...how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
(Matthew 12:34-37)

yes.

My culture believes it's how you live your life that determines the path you will walk in the afterlife.

If you believe in the Christian's way, I don't think the concept is to be able to live a wrong life and at the last second claim salvation.

I think their bible and theology is designed to be a lot like other religions and spirituality and that is to show you how to try and live a just, moral and honorable life. The whole do unto others thing, you know...

This is true, but ALL nonChristians don't "qualify" either. Most people go to hell.
