Usually the intent in debating an issue is to prove your opinion is correct. I've never seen this tactic before.

Translation aside, this still pretty much shows Jesus instructing the people to follow what was already an organized religion. "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you."

I don't need a source to tell me what to believe. I am a self thinker. I believe a higher power put us here and it isn't a power that punishes. If your god really exists, then we're all fukked anyway.

This post does not help your argument.

Jesus did instruct the Jews to follow their leaders instruction which was based on the Old Testament Scriptures. What he took issue with was traditions added to or valued equally with the Scriptures. There is no disputing that, its right there on the pages of the Gospels.

Organized religion is not a bad thing, after all "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil." (Ecc 4:9)

Its when the organization or institution becomes more important than God in its own practice and begins to give itself glory that things become dicey.
