I'm saying Jesus, Peter and Paul do not ascribe to Sola Scriptura because SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

So, what you're saying is that you're smarter than anyone else in history who has not agreed with your interpretation of scripture. Pride goeth before a fall, IS. This pride is a necessary sin to refute anyone who doesn't interpret as you do. We see this case in point right here with you. This is why SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

As for that special line on scripture, according to Sola Scriptura all believers have the Holy Spirit, which is sufficient for interpreting scripture. Now, seeing how believers with the Holy Spirit interpret differently this implies that God is the author of confusion and the Holy Spirit is not sufficient. There are after all at least 20,000 Protestant denominations, remember? This humongous error in theology is why SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

By your own Sola Scriptura standards, if you don't agree with my interpretation then it's within my full rights to tell you that yes, you do change the scripture to suit you. This is why SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

I don't disagree with any of it, little boy, only your interpretation of it. This is why SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

Oh, it's very much a condundrum for you. I didn't expect you to face up to it...but I have hope for you yet. Maybe one day you will come to the rational conclusion that SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

It might make you feel better, or maybe not because I'll tell you what will happen. We'll throw scripture back and forth, and frankly I'm quite sure I'll annihilate your stance using your own standards because SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK. So no, you probably shouldn't go there.

But it's not interpreted correctly. You already admitted that, and you have to admit it because there are over 20,000 Protestant denominations who hold to Sola Scriptura but do not interpret as you do. Simple logic, and this is why SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

It's rare that I'm mis-interpret the Bible because I stay away from talking about things in it that I don't understand. Those things that I do understand, I speak authoritatively about because I am told to and I can. Your turn...
Not true because what you fail to understand is that SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK, and you sure do seem to do a lot of talking about that.

Yes, cheezgrits, we will all find out one day for sure.

In the meantime, my faith and trust remains Rock Solid in the New Testament Jesus alone and the accounts of His teachings as found within the New Testament. When Christ was on earth, not everyone believed Him and most went separate ways forming new teachings and new ways to get to Heaven. That's the way it has been since then and that's the way it will be until Christ returns to reveal His Truth to the world.

There is Only One Red Road and I guess this is where we part ways for There Is Only One Truth. Thank you for your past dialogue.

If I understand it better than some others, doesn't that make me smarter? There are lots of things I know more about than you and vice-versa; What's wrong with that? Is it wrong for someone who is well studied to say he's smarter than me? Is he prideful just because he is educated?

You're just interpreting what I've said incorrectly.......again. (Imagine that)?

That should tell you something but apparently you're not receptive to it. If there's only one Holy Spirit and people hear different things from Him and yet God is not the author of confusion, it stands to reason that the problem is with people...which is what I've been telling you all afternoon.

IF your interpretation is correct, yes; You would be right in telling me that.

Come on R1; You're smarter than that. Just because they SAY they hold to SS doesn't mean they understand it correctly. By using the Bible I, and any well studied Christian, can find flaws in the teachings of almost every denomination.

Nooooo, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you remember there's always someone who has studied more than you that does not interpret like you and they know that SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK because they're smarter than you.

I happen to think it's correct, but you don't. Yeah, imagine that! This is just like SOLA SCRIPURA AND WHY IT DOES NOT WORK.

Of course the problem is with the people -- each person who adheres to Sola Scriptura and interprets differently than the other person who adheres to Sola Scriptura -- yes, the problem is with the people who believe in SOLA SCRIPTURA THAT DOES NOT WORK. I've been trying to tell you that all afternoon, IS!

And by your own standards I have every reason to believe that I am correct even though you, as scholarly as you think yourself, do not, which is why SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

Sola Scriptura means that the bible is the sole authority and therefore everyone may interpret for themselves. Point blank. That's it. You can't get around it. If you can find flaws in everyone else's teaching, then why in God's name can't you find the flaws in your own? I've done a lot of bible study as well as historical and theological study in my own right, so perhaps you will listen to me when I tell you that SOLA SCRIPTURA DOES NOT WORK.

Personally, I think a lot of people understand that Sola Scriptura doesn't work but can't bring themselves to admit it because they are afraid they will have to give the Catholic Church some credence as the alternative. I'm here to say that they don't have to give the Catholic Church credence if they don't want to but at the very least they need to FOLLOW A THEOLOGY THAT WORKS.

OK then. No need to not have dialogue with me, we agree on some things, just not the fact that one certain religion is any better than any other.

Radient1, how many differences are there among the Roman Catholic Church members on ALL matters of theology? Are there any? Do Latin American priests hold to differences in theology than Japanese nuns or Polish priests?

If so, explain how this is possible within the RCC as you describe it? Because if I were to take your posts at face value, there would never be any such thing. But I think you know there is and I suspect you will answer similarly to "we agree on essentials..."

And by the way, if I went down the road of believing erroneously that Holy Scripture was not sufficient, then I would most likely go toward Greece, not Rome.

You are confusing what RC members believe with what the actual RCC teaches.

Bad Catholics give good Catholics a bad name.
