Pastor: I give God 10% why do you get 18%?

Diner Thinks That Saying He’s A Pastor Allows Him To Stiff Waiter On Tip

The photo, which began tearing up the Atheism page on Reddit not long after it was posted a few hours ago, shows a receipt for $34.93 with an automatic gratuity of 18% ($6.29) included.

But the diner has scratched out that tip, writing instead that “I Give God 10% Why do you Get 18″ and adding the word “pastor” above his signature. And instead of leaving a tip that was merely less than the 18%, just wrote a big “0.”

This idiot pastor needs to focus his opinion where it belongs. He pays far more than 10% for federal and state taxes so why isn't his complaint directed there??

Well, he is commanded to follow the laws of the land. Taxes is considered to be one of the many laws of this land. Though, I would be more supportive of the pastor if he had protested high tax rates.

Although, the last line of the article states that he "penalized" the server by not leaving a tip. I don't agree with that assertion, but if the pastor in question decides to revisit that particular restaurant....

This guy is an ass. The resturant is wrong for putting it on the bill though.

I'm not sure which disgusts me more. This cheapskate pastor who stiff a server in the name of God, or the restaurant for forcing a gratuity on a customer.

They're all going to hell, IMO.

Toxick, did you read the article, this is a very common thing in most restaurants for partuys of 6 or more or 8 or more pastors party was 20 people, am sure it was advertised.

In the comments on the post, the person who submitted the image explains that this was just a portion of the total bill for a table of 20, which means the 18% tip is automatically put on the bill.

Also Toxick justice was done server was fired. Because holier than God pastor complained to the the restaurant. Even though the autotip was a restaurant policy not the servers

Applebee’s fires waitress who posted receipt from pastor complaining about auto-tip.

Guess the pastor missed that crap on turn the other cheek, poor pastor was humiliated.

Applebee

How do you know he was a pastor? How do you know it wasnt someone that hates the church or religions that wanted to cast a bad light?

I guess the next time I go out to eat (but not during a Friday thing) I will stiff the waiter and say that us atheists dont pay gratuities

Bad PR move

This situation is quickly turning into a nightmare for Applebees. The social media realm is weighing in on this topic. So far it's nearly unanimous for the fired worker.

Even Applebees' own homepage is displaying angry comments left by people outraged by this move. Applebee's - See You Tomorrow

Since no one decided to inform themselves the pastor is a chick and did tip. I also hate the automatic tip that is added to large party receipts.

She was still an ass but just do your own research and you will find more information.
