Christianity is not an invitation to prosperity. Its not an invitation to a wonderful life or to be comfortable or have our "needs" met (whatever that means).

It's an invitation to come and die. Die to self, follow Jesus to the cross, forsaking our so-called "needs", our rights, our comforts, and live obedient lives according to the Scriptures and confess that "Jesus is Lord."

So, you're comfortable giving up your home, car, internet, TV, hot meals, warm clothes and all to go follow Christ? Have you? Have you helped a homeless person? Taken in a drunk, drug addict or rejected child?

Giving up all your rights, right to vote, live in America, speak freely, etc?

I haven't, nor do I plan to. Just wondering if you all that are righteous in the Lord and preach the message live by your words or are just a talking person sounding good convincing yourselves you'll end up in a better place.

Me? I wish your Christian ways were actually more in the way of your leader...heal people, do good works, befriend even the least of you. Not worry about sitting up in a church telling everyone else how to do it.

Nothing personal against you Zguy, I don't know you personally, but just a thought from the other side.

Yes, I am.

Some of them I have. Those I have not, I would gladly if required of me to do so.

Yes, more than one.

Yes, I have. And we are actively looking into fostering a child.

Speaking of fostering, you should read this article. My take: Why my church rebelled against the American Dream – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs

This guy is the one in the video. Make sure you read the whole thing.

If that is what it takes. God doesn't always require extreme measures, just the willingness to go to them.

I'll let David Platt's actions speak for themselves.

Me too. More the better. Thankfully there are many who do follow Christ in a radical way.

People are who they are and everybody is unique.

If I said "I wish all those alcoholic Indians would get off their lazy butts and work" that would be an offensive and inaccurate stereotype of your people wouldn't it? Yet people (erroneously) believe that is typical just like you believe the typical Christian is the worst version of an American evangelical. Don't be that guy.

Feeling is mutual.
