| Bible Outlines I am studying through the New Testament right now at SEBTS and we have to memorize the outlines of the text. I find them very helpful and want to share for those interested. Matthew I. Prologue 1-2 II. The Gospel of the Kingdom (3-7) A. Narrative 3-4III. The King’s credentials (8-10) A. Narrative 8-9IV. Preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom (11-13) A. Narrative 11-12V. Progressive Polarization (13-18) A. Narrative 13-17VI. Opposition and Eschatology (19-25) A. Narrative 19-23VII. The Passion and Resurrection (26-28) A. Narrative 26-28* The Key marker for Matthew’s outline is the phrase “And it happened, when Jesus had finished saying these things that…” (Mt. 7:28-29; 11:1; 13:53; 19:1; 26:1). This phrase occurs at the end of a discourse in a specific context.
